Depop is a circular fashion marketplace where anyone can buy, sell and discover desirable, affordable secondhand fashion. Since Depop was founded in 2011, our community of 35M registered users has helped popularise preloved fashion and drive forward resale culture, globally.
Today, our platform is defined by its breadth, depth and diversity. Whatever your style, whatever the mood or moment - you’ll find the fashion you love. A place where anyone can clear out their wardrobe and explore their style, where new cult brands are born, and where celebrities and stylists source unique vintage finds.

Our history

Our history

Depop was founded as a social shopping app where readers of fashion and culture magazine PIG could buy items from the creatives featured. Today we’re an app and web-based peer-to-peer marketplace where millions of buyers and sellers come to explore their style.
Powered by a team of 400 people, our company is headquartered in London, with offices in New York and Manchester. In 2021, Depop became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Etsy - the global marketplace for unique and creative goods - and continues to operate as a standalone company.
