Depop is set to launch a series of pop-ups over six months across the UK in partnership with retail pop-up provider Sook, taking over iconic retail spaces including Oxford Street in London, the Birmingham Bullring, Liverpool One and Edinburgh’s St. James Quarter.
To kick off the series, four exciting, immersive pop-ups will feature in London throughout November and December, encouraging more people to shop secondhand while reviving the high street for the Christmas Party season
Running on the 30th of November, 15th-16th and 22nd - 24th of December, the London events are free to attend and will bring the best of Depop to life, powered by retail space rental agency Sook. From encouraging sellers to connect with their fans in real life, to reaching new audiences of fashion-conscious consumers in the Capital.
Depop will bring eleven unique sellers into Sook’s pop-up spaces in Central London, kicking off with kathandrosa who’ll be taking over the South Molton Street space on the 30th November with an edit of handpicked vintage and Y2K pieces.
celiapops, alicefletchdf and reloadedldn will then bring their curated collections of Y2K styles, handpicked designer and original designs to Sook’s Oxford Street retail space for two days on the 15th-16th December.
They will be followed by chrissynx, shophenri, jwarren and katierowe100 (a favourite of Pink Pantheress no less), bringing their offering of handpicked vintage and 00’s styles to Oxford Street over a period of two days, from 22nd to 24th December.
The 2023 series will be closed out by imdesigns, elianaavintage and ellboll at the Oxford St space on the 30th, with more pop-ups to come across the country in 2024.
The event series is made possible through ‘Powered by Depop’, a programme which gives sellers the tools to take their business offline, and aims to promote the purchase of circular fashion.
Steve Dool, Director of Brand and Marketing at Depop said: “We’re excited to be working with Sook again to give people the opportunity to shop from their favourite Depop sellers in the real world. By partnering with Sook, we hope we can reach and inspire more people to look to circular fashion options that are kinder to the planet, rather than buying new.”
John Hoyle, Founder of Sook, added: “We are very excited to be partnering with Depop to elevate the businesses of young entrepreneurs and help increase access to circular fashion in real life across the country.
“This new partnership is in line with our goal of supporting brands in bringing their vision to life, and is reflective of the growing appetite amongst UK consumers to shop more consciously.”
