Depop taps its community to design a capsule collection with Vans

Vans, the original action sports brand and icon of creative expression, and Depop, the fashion marketplace app with the cult Gen-Z following, announce their first-ever collaboration, championing community and creativity. The Vans x Depop six-piece capsule collection, including both footwear and apparel, was thoughtfully designed with artists Jessica Luostarinen, LeiMai LeMaow, Connor Williams and Yuki Haze. Launching today, this partnership celebrates the energy established through collaboration, not only between two brands, but also between unique creative perspectives.

The Vans x Depop collection features a three-piece product capsule by London-based multimedia artist, Jessica Luostarinen. With a focus on expressive illustration, Jessica's designs with Vans are inspired by the fun things in life, "like dancing and laughing - I want people to feel confident and unique." Jessica's illustrations are featured across the Super ComfyCush Era, alongside a customized black long sleeve tee and white oversized hoodie.

Rounding out the rest of the footwear offering, artist and photographer Yuki Haze designs the platform-soled Super ComfyCush Slip-On. LeMai LeMaow, a Manchester-based artist specialising in graffiti murals and signwriting designs the ComfyCush Era, whilst collage artist and skate brand-owner Connor Williams takes inspiration from the rave scene in London for his ComfyCush Old Skool.

To coincide with this collaboration, Depop is partnering with Snapchat on an augmented reality Snap-lense that allows users to virtually ‘try on' the Vans x Depop shoes. Using the Social Media app, Snapchatters can switch between all four styles in the collection, digitally overlayed on their own feet, offering an immersive experience and chance to visualise the collection in 3D using recently released AR Snap lense technology.

The Vans x Depop collection is available exclusively on the Depop app, footlocker.eu & selected Foot Locker stores across UK & Europe.
